Anthony Weiner Not Divorcing His Wife

Family lawyers in Pasadena have seen "sexting" tear apart modern marriages, and now the practice has landed a top politician in hot water. Jaws dropped earlier this week when Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner confessed that he did, in fact, use Twitter to send a dirty picture of himself to a 21-year-old college student and also admitted to having telephone and online relationships with six women over the past three years. Weiner says he conducted the relationships with women before and after his marriage to Hillary Clinton's aide Huma Abedin. Yet despite the bombshell allegations, Weiner says he and Abedin won't be divorcing.

"My wife has known about some of these online relationships since before we were married. But she did not know until this morning that I had not been truthful about the Twitter posting last week. I'm here primarily to express my apologies to my wife and family," Weiner said in a press conference on Monday.

Weiner said that he never met any of the women in person, nor did he engage in "physical relations" while he was married.

"I love my wife very much and we have no intention of splitting up over this. We have been through a great deal together and we will weather this. I love her very much and she loves me. She said she loved me and said we're going to get through this. But she deserves much better than this."

Weiner's scandal was blown open by conservative blogger Andrew Weiner. The congressman initially denied the allegations but eventually admitted to the charges. The New York Times is reporting that Weiner's wife is newly pregnant.
