Interested in giving back to our community? If so, please consider taking part of the Pasadena Bar Association's 2012 Speech Scholarship Contest.

The Speech Scholarship Contest will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at La Salle High School. Last year's contest proved to be rewarding for all PBA members who volunteered their time. "We always hear negative things about teenagers, but watching the kids compete last year gave me hope for the future," said Kayla Horacek, a PBA member.

As of today's date, the Association has received 75 applications from high school students within the San Gabriel Valley. The Speech Scholarship Contest will consist of four preliminary rounds of competition. Team and individual awards will be handed out. The two finalists will be invited to speak at our Law Day event, on May 10, 2012 in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, where they will compete before approximately 150 judges and lawyers. The PBA will award a $5,000.00 scholarship to the first place winner and $2,000.00 to the runner up.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by the Pasadena Bar Association to those members who participate. The event is also a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with other PBA members.
